It’s Official: National Budget 2026 Takes Place On 13th October, 2025

The National Budget 2026 will be presented in Parliament by the Honourable Davendranath Tancoo, M.P, Minister of Finance, on Monday 13th October, 2025 at 1:30 PM.
This was officially announced by Minister Tancoo in a Media Release a short while ago this morning (Tuesday 7th October, 2025).
UNC Public Relations Officer, Dr. Kirk Meighoo, shared a flyer online yesterday (Monday 6th October, 2025), announcing the Budget date as 13th October, 2025, which began circulating on social media. However, he quickly recalled the flyer, stating, “No official announcement has been made. I mistakenly shared someone else’s post.”
When asked by Guardian Media to comment on the handling of the announcement and the confusion last evening, Prime Minister the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, MP, said it was “leaked info.”
