Police Capture $5,000 Bracelet-Snatcher Along High Street, San Fernando
Fast-acting Police Officers apprehended a man for larceny following a foot-chase along High Street, San Fernando, on Saturday (11th October, 2025).
According to reports, a woman was walking along High Street, in the vicinity of Scotiabank, when she felt someone tug at the gold bera (a traditional East Indian hand bracelet) on her left hand. She turned around and saw a man running away with the bracelet, valued at $5,000. The victim immediately raised an alarm, prompting a quick response from Cpl. Matloo and WPC Cyrus, who pursued the suspect. The 19-year-old man, of Las Alturas, Morvant, was subsequently apprehended and arrested. He was then taken to the San Fernando Police Station, where he remains in custody as investigations continue.
