Police Officer Amon Andrews Shot Multiple Times In Arouca — Hospitalized With Serious Injuries
Commissioner of Police, Allister Guevarro, is wishing No. 13348 PC Amon Andrews a speedy recovery, after he suffered gunshot wounds in a reported robbery with violence and wounding with intent incident, which occurred in the Arouca district early this morning (Wednesday 1st October, 2025).
According to reports, PC Andrews, 51, attached to the Arouca Police Station, was found a short distance from his home, by his common-law wife and neighbours, around 2:45 AM, in the vicinity of the Priority Bus Route (PBR), with gunshot wounds to his left leg, chest and upper middle back.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said he was transported to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope for treatment, where he was found to have suffered damage to his lungs, which is being treated, and his lower spinal cord. Further tests are expected to ascertain if any damage was done to his abdomen.
PC Andrews was visited this morning by DCP ‘Operations,’ Suzette Martin and Snr. Supt. ‘North Central Division,’ Vernly Gift. The TTPS notes that he was found to be “alert, despite his wounds.”
The TTPS said it “joins with the CoP and the Executive in keeping the family, friends and colleagues of PC Andrew in our prayers and thoughts during this time.”
Investigations are continuing.
