Couple Shot Dead At Penal Rock Road Home — Police Investigating

A husband and wife are dead following a brutal shooting incident at their home at the 8 mile mark along Penal Rock Road early this morning (Monday 17th November, 2025). The deceased have been identified as 51-year-old Raffeak Vialva and his wife, 40-year-old Babita Vialva. Raffeak operated a timberjack, a machine used to haul logs from forested areas, and the couple were involved in the purchase and transport of raw wood to sawmills for cutting into planks. Babita, originally from Biche, was a housewife who occasionally assisted her husband in the field.
According to reports, the couple were inside the home with their 19-year-old daughter, when gunmen stormed in and opened fire, around 3:00 AM, hitting both Raffeak and Babita multiple times. The suspects allegedly used a sledgehammer to breach the front door to gain entry into the house. The couple’s daughter managed to escape unharmed.
Police and Emergency Health Services were notified. However, Babita died at the scene. Raffeak succumbed to his injuries while being conveyed to the San Fernando General Hospital.
Responding Police Officers later found an abandoned vehicle believed to have been used by the killers.

Investigators are at the Penal Rock Road house of Raffeak and Babita Vialva who were gunned down inside their home early Monday morning. Babita died at the scene while Raffeak died en route to the hospital.
