Customs And Excise Division Seizes Narcotics Valued At Over TT $10 Million

According to the Customs and Excise Division, during routine operational activities conducted over the past week, Officers of the Division executed four (4) separate narcotics seizures.

In a Media Release today (Saturday 15th November, 2025), the Division said these interceptions resulted in the confiscation of 38.998 Kilograms of Marijuana, eight (8) ampoules of Fentanyl, one (1) vial of Ketamine and 0.606 Kilograms of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA).

The seized Marijuana carries an estimated street value of TT $9,737,800, while the MDMA carries an estimated street value of TT$1,515,000.

The Division notes that these successful operations highlight its “unwavering commitment to protecting the borders of Trinidad and Tobago from the illicit narcotics trade and other forms of smuggling that pose risks to public health, safety, and national security. The Customs and Excise Division continues to employ intelligence-driven strategies, advanced screening techniques, and strong inter-agency collaboration to combat the movement of prohibited and restricted goods.”

Several individuals were arrested in relation to these seizures and have since appeared before the Magistrates' Court. 

Investigations remain ongoing.

The Media Release concluded by saying, “The Customs and Excise Division reaffirms its mandate to safeguard national revenue, enforce the laws of Trinidad and Tobago, and strengthen partnerships with local, regional, and international agencies. The Division remains steadfast in its mission to disrupt criminal networks engaged in illegal trade and to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, vigilance, and service to the nation.”
