Low-Level Trough To Affect T&T On Wednesday And Thursday [5-Day Weather Outlook]

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), the axis of a low-level trough is likely to cross the Lesser Antilles by Wednesday (19th November, 2025) into Thursday (20th November, 2025).

There are no significant features for cyclonic development analyzed for this outlook period.

Looking Beyond This Outlook Period

  • At this time, looking ahead in the Area of Interest during the seven (7) days following this outlook period, analysis continues to indicate mainly fluctuating levels of low-level convergence and intermittent periods of equatorial moisture advection. There are no significant features nor cyclonic development analyzed.
  • These early analyses so far into the future are subjected to much variation as time progresses. The Met Office said it will continue to analyze and monitor all developments, or possible developments, within our Area of Interest.

Seas

  • The wind waves in the open waters to the near-East and Northeast of Trinidad and Tobago are expected to be near 2m or just above and gradually reduce to between 1.5m and 2m by Thursday (20th).

Wind

  • The wind in the near-surface to the lower mid-level over Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands (2,000 ft to 5,000 ft), is expected to be 20 kts and reduce to 15 kts by Thursday (20th). Direction is expected to be initially East-Southeast to East and backing to Northeast by Sunday (23rd).

Dust

  • Generally mild or occasionally moderate concentrations of dust will be present in the atmosphere for this outlook period. Sensitive persons are advised to take the necessary precautions.

Synopsis And 5-Day Outlook

  • Increased convergence and moisture build-up due to a passing perturbation or trough are expected to result in cloudiness, showers, and medium to high chances for isolated thunderstorm development, mainly across Trinidad and Tobago and the Windward and Southern Leeward Islands during Wednesday (19th) and Thursday (20th).

Wednesday (19th November, 2025)

  • Trinidad and Tobago and the Windward Islands: Partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times with showers and medium to high chances for isolated thunderstorm activity.
  • The Leeward Islands: Generally fair with a few light to moderate showers over the Southern Leeward Islands. Partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times over the Northern Leeward Islands, with light to moderate showers in some areas and a medium chance for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm.

Thursday (20th November, 2025)

  • Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands: Partly cloudy, becoming cloudy by late morning with showers over varying areas and a medium to high chance of thunderstorm activity. There is the possibility of strong thunderstorm development, mainly favouring — but not limited to — the Western half of Trinidad and the Gulf of Paria, from late morning into the afternoon.
  • The remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Fair to partly cloudy with a few light to moderate showers over varying areas and a medium chance for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm.

Friday (21st November, 2025)

  • Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands: Partly cloudy with a few light to moderate showers. There is a medium to high chance for a heavy shower or thunderstorm over hilly and Western areas of Trinidad and a low to medium chance for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm over Tobago.
  • The remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Fair to partly cloudy with a few light to moderate showers over varying areas and a medium chance for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm.

Saturday (22nd November, 2025)

  • Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands: Partly cloudy with a few light to moderate showers. There is a medium chance for a heavy shower or thunderstorm over Western Trinidad.
  • The remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Mostly fair with a few light to moderate showers, mainly near hilly areas.

Sunday (23rd November, 2025)

  • Trinidad and Tobago: Partly cloudy with a few light to moderate showers and a medium chance for an isolated heavy shower, favouring Trinidad.
  • The remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Mostly fair with a few light to moderate showers, mainly near hilly areas.

The TTMS said it continues to analyze and monitor all developments within the Area of Interest.
