TWO (2) Men Arrested After Freeport Kidnapping; Search On For Third Suspect
A swift response by Police Officers led to the arrest of two (2) suspects following a report of kidnapping and assault in the Freeport district on Friday (14th November, 2025).
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), around 9:00 AM, a 45-year-old Freeport resident reported that he had been forcibly taken by three (3) men during an altercation at a fruit shed along Mission Road, in the vicinity of Nelson Road, Freeport.
Reports state the confrontation escalated and the men allegedly forced the victim into a black Toyota Hilux vehicle, bound his hands, and transported him to a bushy area in Chickland Village, where he was assaulted and threatened. The suspects later allegedly took the victim to his home in an attempt to obtain items they had demanded. When the items could not be provided, the victim was again forced into the same vehicle in the presence of a relative and taken back to the fruit shed.
A report was subsequently made to the 999 hotline. Responding Officers from the Freeport Police Station and the Freeport Criminal Investigations Department (CID) acted swiftly, conducting enquiries that led to the interception of the vehicle with the victim and suspects inside. Two (2) men were arrested at the scene, and the vehicle was seized as part of the investigation.
Enquiries are ongoing as investigators work to locate the third suspect and gather additional evidence.
