30-Year-Old Man Gets Jail Time For Breaching Protection Order For THIRD Time

A Tobago man has been sentenced to three (3) months and twenty-four (24) days in prison, after he was charged with breach of a Protection Order, for the third time.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Tevin Duke, 30, a farmer, of Belle Garden, Tobago, was sentenced when he appeared before Magistrate Avion Gill, in the Scarborough Second Court, on Wednesday (3rd December, 2025).

He pleaded guilty to breaching a Protection Order in place that stipulates he is to not send threatening messages to the victim.

Duke was found to have sent a Facebook message to the victim on 18th November, 2025, threatening to kill her if he went to jail again.

The accused has been sent to jail two (2) times already for breaching Protection Orders.

Investigations were supervised by W/ASP Piggott and Sgt. Yorke, while WPC Kerr King laid the charge.

The TTPS is reminding persons that “threats sent through social media can violate Protection Orders. As we mark 16 days of activism against digital violence against women and girls, let us remember that online threats, harassment and intimidation, are forms of violence and perpetrators will be prosecuted.”
