37-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Cashew Gardens; Another Hospitalized
A man is dead and another wounded following a shooting incident in Cashew Gardens, Chaguanas, last night (Sunday 30th November, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 37-year-old MTS Groundsman, Jamal Arthur of Tasker Street.
According to reports, gunmen approached several persons gathered along Cordial Avenue and opened fire, around 9:50 PM. The group scattered in different directions as the suspects continued firing before making their escape.
Police discovered Arthur’s body this morning (Monday 1st December, 2025) on the compound of the National Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme at Cordial Avenue. He had been struck during the attack and collapsed while attempting to flee.
A second victim, identified as 30-year-old Fire Service Officer, Kareem Reno of Cashew Gardens, was also wounded. He was taken for medical treatment at Hospital and remains warded in a stable condition at this time.
Officers from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) and Chaguanas Police Station visited the scene and are conducting investigations.
Police have not yet established a motive for this murder.
