BODY of Missing Man Found In Swamp In Beetham — With Gunshot Wounds

The body of a missing man was found with gunshot wounds in a swamp in Beetham earlier today (Monday 22nd December, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Brandon Jamaal Jessop of Eastern Quarry, Laventille. He reportedly had mental challenges and was last seen on Saturday (20th December, 2025). After he failed to return home, he was reported missing to Police by his mother.

According to information received by Police, Jessop was shot and killed on Sunday (21st December, 2025) and his body later dumped in a swampy area, near the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) facility at Beetham.

Officers, along with members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT), led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, conducted a co-ordinated search of the swamp and surrounding terrain, resulting in the discovery of the body earlier today (Monday 22nd December, 2025), South of the Beetham Highway.

Police said Jessop appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds. 

The area was cordoned off and processed by investigators as they gathered evidence and canvassed for information, as homicide inquiries were formally launched. 

Police are appealing to members of the public for assistance as they seek to determine the circumstances surrounding Jessop‘s murder and identify those responsible.

Investigations are continuing.
