Government Approves U.S. Military Aircraft To Transit T&T's Airports In ‘Coming Weeks’

The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs said it “reaffirms the Government of Trinidad and Tobago's (GORTT's) commitment to sustained co-operation with the United States of America (U.S.A.) in advancing regional safety, security, and stability.”

In a Media Release today (Monday 15th December, 2025), the Ministry said, “Through this partnership, Trinidad and Tobago has benefited from joint military training exercises, enhanced surveillance capabilities, including the installation of an effective radar system, and collaborative efforts that have contributed to the interdiction of millions of dollars' worth of illegal narcotics.”

The Ministry notes that the United States Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago has also supported national development through educational initiatives, including school equipment donations and infrastructure enhancement projects.

According to the Ministry, “In keeping with established bilateral co-operation, the Ministry has granted approvals for United States military aircraft to transit Trinidad and Tobago's Airports in the coming weeks. The United States has advised that these movements are logistical in nature, facilitating supply replenishment and routine personnel rotations.

The Honourable Sean Sobers, M.P., Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, welcomes the continued collaboration:

“The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs maintains close engagement with the United States Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago. The Honourable Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, has affirmed the Government's commitment to co-operation and collaboration in the pursuit of safety and security for Trinidad and Tobago and the wider region. We welcome the continued support of the United States.”
