Met Office Issues Adverse Weather Alert For NINETEEN (19) Hours From Tonight
UPDATE (07/12/25): Unsettled conditions are ongoing today (Sunday 7th December, 2025), with periods of rainfall activity of varying intensities expected to persist for the next several hours, along with the low to medium (30% to 40%) chance of isolated heavy showers or thunderstorm activity. Some areas across both islands have been experiencing breezy to gusty winds in the vicinity of showers. Settled periods are likely overnight, interspersed with light rain or brisk showers.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued an Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) for nineteen (19) hours. The Alert begins at 11:00 PM tonight (Saturday 6th December, 2025) and will remain in effect until 6:00 PM on Sunday (7th December, 2025) for Trinidad and Tobago.
According to the Met Office, unsettled conditions are expected with periods of rainfall of varying intensities and a medium (60%) chance of isolated thunderstorm activity.
Impacts
- Gusty winds in excess of 55 Km/hr may occur in the vicinity of heavy showers or thunderstorms, which may displace loose outdoor items and agitate seas.
- Heavy downpours can lead to street/flash flooding as well as localized ponding and may trigger landslides/landslips along vulnerable areas.
The Met Office notes that the most impactful weather is expected within the alert period. However, showery spells are still forecast before and after the timeframe.
