Multiple Firearms, Ammunition, Police Vests Recovered In TTPS Intelligence Operations
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said it conducted a series of intelligence-led anti-crime operations on Tuesday (16th December, 2025), resulting in the recovery of multiple firearms, ammunition, and Police-issued equipment.
According to the TTPS, Officers attached to the Cumuto Police Station and the Northern Division - North Task Force acted on intelligence and proceeded to an abandoned property along Cumuto Main Road, Cumuto. A search of the premises led to the discovery of one (1) pump-action shotgun and two (2) blue bulletproof vests marked “Police.” The operation was supervised by W/Ag. Sgt. Hamilton-Foster.
In a separate exercise, conducted between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM, Officers from the San Raphael Police Station carried out a search in a forested area, along Arena Road, San Raphael and found a homemade 16-gauge shotgun. This exercise was supervised by Ag. Cpl. Singh.
Additionally, an intelligence-driven operation within the Chaguanas Policing District resulted in the recovery of a firearm and ammunition. The TTPS said between 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM, Officers from the Chaguanas Criminal Investigations Department (CID), along with members of the Central Division Task Force (CDTF) - Area North, conducted co-ordinated operations under the leadership of Sgt. Samaroo.
Acting on intelligence information, Officers proceeded to Connector Road, Charlieville, where a thorough search of a densely bushy area was conducted. During the exercise, Officers discovered a shotgun along with several shotgun cartridges. The calibre of the ammunition is yet to be determined.
Investigations are ongoing and are being conducted by PC Hosein.
The TTPS said it “continues to encourage members of the public to partner with law enforcement by providing information that can assist in the fight against crime.”
