Police Constable, Civilian Charged With Firearm-Related Offences
A Police Constable and another man have each been granted bail with surety, after they appeared before separate Justices of the Peace on Monday (15th December, 2025), each charged with firearm-related offences.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), No. 18909 PC Kushal Karamthesingh was charged with transferring his Glock-48 pistol, transferring ten (10) rounds of 9mm ammunition, possession of three (3) 12-gauge cartridges, failing to have his FUL when carrying his legal firearms and ammunition in a public place, not authorized to keep and the improper use of the TTPS shotgun and not authorized to keep the three (3) TTPS-issued 12-gauge cartridges.
He was granted bail with surety in the sum of $175,000 by JP Mohammed to cover all the charges.
Meanwhile, Ramjit Ramlochan was charged with possession of a Glock-48 pistol belonging to PC Karamthesingh, and possession of ten (10) rounds of 9mm ammunition belonging to PC Karamthesingh.
He was granted bail with surety in the sum of $120,000 by JP Babootee. As a condition of his bail, he is required to report to the St. Joseph Police Station once a week, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Both men are expected to appear in the Hall of Justice, Port-of-Spain, on Wednesday (17th December, 2025), to answer to their respective charges.
The duo was arrested in the Caroni district on Wednesday 10th December, 2025.
During the exercise, Officers seized the firearms and ammunition and launched investigations into the matter.
