Sales Clerk Ambushed, Robbed of TT $380,000 In Cash Moments After Leaving Republic Bank In Siparia
A sales clerk was ambushed while driving his vehicle and robbed of TT $380,000 in cash in Siparia in broad daylight on Monday afternoon (22nd December, 2025), shortly after withdrawing the funds from a nearby bank.
According to reports, the 31-year-old male victim visited Republic Bank Limited (RBL) on High Street, Siparia, where he cashed a cheque and received TT $380,000 in cash. He then placed it inside a black backpack and left the bank. The victim entered a white Honda Vezel and drove towards Daisy Voisin Street, Siparia, where his workplace and a MoneyGram outlet are located.
However, while traveling along Mary Street, around 1:15 PM, his vehicle was suddenly blocked by a silver Nissan Tiida, which pulled directly in front of it, forcing the victim to stop.
Three (3) suspects then alighted from the Tiida. The men were dressed in long-sleeve green coveralls, with ski masks fully covering their faces. One suspect was armed with a firearm, while another carried a hammer.
The bandits announced a robbery and demanded the cash. The victim handed over the backpack containing the money and the men re-entered the Tiida and made their escape.
A report was made to the Police and investigations are continuing into the calculated and brazen robbery.
More on this as it becomes available.
