TT Regiment RESPONDS To Armed Robbery Incident With Men Wearing Full Military Uniforms

The Trinidad and Tobago Regiment (TTR) said it has been made aware of a report received by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), concerning an incident alleged to involve individuals wearing military attire.

In a Media Release today (Thursday 11th December, 2025), the TTR said, “While details remain limited at this time, the TTR remains available to co-operate fully with the TTPS as they conduct their investigations. The TTR takes all reports of possible misconduct seriously and remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and accountability. Further information will be provided as necessary.”

The statement comes days after an incident which occurred around 10:45 PM on Monday night (8th December, 2025), at Building 12, Maloney Gardens. Reports state that two (2) residents were on the second floor of the apartment block along with other occupants, when they were approached by four (4) men dressed in full military camouflage, resembling that of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) uniforms. The assailants were armed with firearms and had their faces fully-concealed with masks.

The men reportedly identified themselves as Soldiers but refused repeated requests by residents to produce their official identifications — which raised immediate suspicion, despite the country being under a State of Emergency (SOE), which does allows Soldiers and Police enhanced powers to stop, search and question members of the public. Unfortunately, this also increases the risk of impersonation by criminal elements.

The victims and other residents were ordered to lie on the ground. The assailants then robbed one victim of $6,000 in cash and another of $1,000 before making their escape.

The suspects fled the scene in a marked TTDF vehicle (5TTR275), driving onto the Churchill Roosevelt Highway in an unknown direction.

Investigations are continuing by WPC Guyadeen of the Maloney CID.

More on this as it becomes available.
