25-Year-Old Man Ambushed, Shot Dead In Diego Martin — Police Investigating

A man is dead following a shooting incident in Diego Martin early this morning (Wednesday 7th January, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Kareem Charles, aka ‘Fully,’ of Davidson Drive, La Puerta, Diego Martin.

According to reports, Charles was driving a champagne-coloured Nissan Tiida along Riverside Drive, around 12:15 AM, when, upon reaching a dead end and attempting to turn around, his vehicle was blocked by a silver Nissan AD wagon. 

Three (3) men alighted from the wagon and approached Charles’ car.

Moments later, several loud explosions were heard. The occupants of the Tiida then fled the vehicle in different directions. 

After the gunmen re-entered the wagon and made their escape, Charles was found lying motionless with multiple gunshot wounds about the body. 

Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded. 

A District Medical Officer (DMO) was also summoned, who pronounced Charles dead at the scene.

Crime scene investigators recovered eighteen (18) spent .40 calibre shell casings, along with a projectile and a fragment. 

Police have not yet established a motive for this murder.

Investigations are continuing.
