Double Murder Near Hillview College: 2 Men Shot Dead, 2 Wounded In Tunapuna Attack

Two (2) men are dead and two (2) others wounded following a brutal shooting incident in El Dorado, Tunapuna, last night (Saturday 21st February, 2026). The deceased have been identified as Marlon Alexander and Jesus Sergeant. This is the second double murder over this weekend. Two (2) men were also killed in Diego Martin on Friday night (20th February, 2026).


According to reports, multiple persons were shot during the incident at Marcano Trace, Upper El Dorado Road, in the vicinity of Hillview College. Alexander and Sergeant sustained multiple gunshot wounds about their bodies.

Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. The wounded men were rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope for emergency treatment. However, Alexander and Sergeant were pronounced dead on arrival.

A third victim, Isaiah Richardson, remains hospitalized in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds, while the fourth victim, identified as Rivaldo Fortune, was shot in the right leg and is said to be in stable condition.

The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear at this time.

Crime scene investigators recovered several spent shells.

This is the second double murder within less than twenty-four (24) hours. Christian Achille and Marcus Best were shot dead at an auto body shop at Sea Trace in Diego Martin on Friday night (20th February, 2026).

Investigations are continuing into both double murders.

Mandatory Fixed Penalty Warning System For These 18 Traffic Violations To Take Effect From Monday

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising members of the public that, effective from Monday (2nd March, 2026), mandatory Fixed Penalty Warnings will be implemented for eighteen (18) specified traffic violations contained in the Eleventh Schedule to the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act , Chap. 48:50, aimed at improving road safety, encouraging compliance, and promoting corrective action. In a Media Release on Friday (27th February, 2026), the Ministry said, “ Motorists in breach of the listed violations will be issued a Fixed Penalty Warning instead of a Fixed Penalty Notice. Police Constable Hospitalized In Critical Condition Following ‘Incident’ At Sangre Grande Police Station

UPDATE (24/02/26): The injured Officer has been identified as PC Jonathan Bonaldo, who is assigned to the Sangre Grande Police Station. He is still receiving treatment for his severe injuries at Hospital. Bonaldo reportedly managed to get to his feet after his fall and made his way into the station’s Charge Room. Bleeding from the head, he is said to have rested his head on the Station Diary, leaving it stained with blood. He then walked into the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) office, where he laid down on a desk, before being rushed for emergency medical treatment. A man is dead following a shooting incident in Santa Cruz last night (Wednesday 25th February, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 28-year-old labourer, Hakeem Baker, also known as “Peng,” of Northwest Drive, Patna Village, Diego Martin. He was gunned down inside a car. A man is dead following a shooting incident in Barataria earlier today (Sunday 1st March, 2026). The deceased has been identified as Rivaldo Pierre of Gilkes Street, Four Roads, Diego Martin.  According to reports, Pierre was shot inside a house along 10th Street, Barataria. A man has died at Hospital, days after a shooting incident during a robbery at his sales tent in Gulf View on Saturday night (14th February, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Vijay Nanan of Rousillac. According to reports, the businessman and his employee, 40-year-old Yudelcy Martinez, were conducting sales at his tent along Gulf View Link Road, when two (2) men dressed in dark clothing stormed in and announced a robbery, around 7:00 PM.
