21-Year-Old Suspect Apprehended Following Road Traffic Accident In Port-of-Spain
Officers of the Emergency Response Patrol (ERP) branch successfully apprehended a suspect following a road traffic accident in Port-of-Spain on Saturday afternoon (5th April, 2026).
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), at approximately 1:40 PM, PCs Lewis and Dillon, both attached to the Port-of-Spain/Western Division ERP, were on static duty at the corner of Gordon and Frederick Streets, when they responded to a reported road traffic accident at the corner of New and Henry Streets.
While approaching the scene, the Officers observed two (2) male individuals running from one of the vehicles involved in the accident. The Officers pursued the suspects on foot, and with the assistance of Officers from the Port-of-Spain Task Force, one (1) individual was apprehended.
Investigations revealed that the vehicle, a white Nissan AD wagon, had been reported stolen on Thursday (2nd April, 2026).
The suspect, identified as a 21-year-old male of Laventille, was taken into custody and conveyed to the Central Police Station, where he remains, pending further enquiries.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
