44-Year-Old Cyclist Dies After Crashing Into Perimeter Fence During Easter Grand Prix At Skinner Park
A cyclist is dead following a tragic accident during a competitive cycling event at Skinner Park, San Fernando, on Friday night (3rd April, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Colin “Creepy” Wilson of Lanse Mitan Road, Carenage.
According to reports, during the Six Laps Masters 40 – 49 event at the 2026 Easter International Cycling Grand Prix, Wilson made contact with the track’s perimeter fencing, resulting in severe injuries to his neck. The incident occurred around 7:15 PM.
Medical personnel stationed at the venue responded immediately, administering emergency care before transporting him to the San Fernando General Hospital via Ambulance for urgent treatment. However, despite efforts to stabilize him, Wilson succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. He was pronounced dead at approximately 7:27 PM.
Police Officers who responded to the incident conducted initial enquiries at both the scene and the Hospital.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash, which has plunged the cycling community into mourning.
