MAJOR Breakthrough In Municipal Police Officer Killing — SIX (6) In Custody, Some Firearms, Ammo Recovered
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said it can confirm that six (6) persons have been detained in connection with the ongoing investigation into the homicide of a Municipal Police Officer, identified as Acting Corporal Anusha Eversley, and the theft of several firearms and quantities of ammunition at the Kings Wharf compound, San Fernando.
In a Media Release this morning (Monday 20th April, 2026), the TTPS said those detained include two (2) Municipal Police Officers, two (2) females, and two (2) other males.
According to the TTPS, “Officers of the San Fernando Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Special Branch, and Special Investigations Unit, supported by intelligence-led operations and the strategic use of technology, worked throughout the night as they carried out several simultaneous operations and have made a significant breakthrough in the matter.”
As a result, the TTPS notes that a substantial quantity of the stolen firearms and ammunition has been recovered, as follows:
- 10 M&P pistols.
- 10 Glock-19 pistols.
- 1 Browning pistol.
- 1 Smith & Wesson pistol.
- 612 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Commissioner of Police, Allister Guevarro, led Officers on the ground in the early hours of this morning as the investigation progressed and took a critical turn.
The TTPS added, “Investigations remain ongoing and are at a sensitive stage. The TTPS assures the public that all efforts are being made to bring those responsible to justice.”
