Today: Variably Cloudy, 60% Chance For Thunderstorm Activity — Increase In Saharan Dust; 32°C Max

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), variable cloud cover and scattered showers are likely today (Tuesday 9th September, 2025), particularly over the Western half of Trinidad. There is a medium (60%) chance of isolated thunderstorm activity. Conditions are expected to settle before evening, apart from lingering isolated showers.

Street flooding and gusty winds are likely. Isolated flash flooding is also possible, especially along western areas of Trinidad. 

The Met Office notes that an increase in Saharan dust is expected later today.  

The forecast maximum temperature today will be 32°C at both Piarco in Trinidad and Crown Point in Tobago. 

Seas are slight to moderate with waves 1.2m to 1.5m in open waters and below 1m and choppy near showers in sheltered areas.
