U.S. Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk Assassinated: FBI Releases Photos of ‘Person of Interest’

UPDATE: The FBI said it “continues to work alongside our law enforcement partners to seek justice in the murder of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. We are releasing additional photos of a person of interest.” See the four (4) new photos below as the manhunt continues for the assassin.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has released a pair of photographs of a “person of interest” following the assassination of U.S. Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon (10th September, 2025).

Kirk quickly ascended in U.S. conservative circles after co-founding the right-wing youth organization, “Turning Point USA,” in 2012, along with Marketing Entrepreneur and Tea Party Activist, Bill Montgomery.

The FBI in Salt Lake City is asking for the public's help and is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person responsible for Kirk’s death. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Kirk, 31, a father of two (2), was shot dead by a single bullet to the neck as he was sitting beneath a tent, speaking to students at Utah Valley University on Wednesday afternoon. The gunman is believed to have opened fire from a roof around 200 yards away. Videos depicting his assassination have been widely circulated on social media.

EDITOR’S NOTE: We have decided not to link to or embed the videos in this article, due to its horrific nature.

The “person of interest” is of College-age, slim build and shown in the FBI images wearing a snapback with sunglasses, long pants, and a long-sleeved top, which appears to bear a patriotic logo of the bald eagle flying across an American flag, with the words “Land of the Free...Home of the Brave.” The shirt is said to be sold cheaply on Ebay.

While two (2) men were briefly taken into custody following the assassination, investigators later confirmed they were not suspects and were subsequently released.

A high-powered bolt-action hunting rifle fitted with a scope was discovered by authorities in a wooded area close to the scene of the crime. Investigators also recovered bullets inside the rifle which had been allegedly engraved with transgender and antifascist ideology. Reports state the weapon was found wrapped in a towel, with a spent cartridge in the chamber and three (3) unspent rounds in the magazine, all of which contained messages on them. The exact words used have not been disclosed.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance described Kirk as a “true friend” and a “great family man” in a post on X, while President Donald Trump announced Kirk's death on Truth Social, saying, “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife, Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Trump later addressed the nation on Wednesday night, in a somber speech delivered from the Oval Office. “To my great fellow Americans, I am filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah. Charlie inspired millions and tonight, all who knew him and loved him are united in shock and horror,” the President said.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika Kirk (born Frantzve), and their 3-year-old daughter and 16-month-old son.

Investigations are continuing into his assasination.
