WASA Completes Temporary Road Restoration Along Beetham Highway
According to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), around 1:00 PM on Sunday (8th September, 2025), it received a report of a burst main along the Westbound lane of the Beetham Highway, Sea Lots. A sinkhole had also developed in the area of the ruptured 8-inch main.
In a Media Release on Monday (8th September, 2025), WASA said it “immediately mobilized a pipeline repair crew to undertake the emergency works. The job was complex in nature with underground lines belonging to T&TEC and NGC in close proximity of the damaged WASA pipeline.”
The repairs were completed and the roadway temporarily restored at approximately 5:00 AM on Monday (8th September, 2025), with the interim reinstatement works resuming at 6:00 PM that day. WASA notes that permanent road reinstatement will be carried out on Wednesday (10th September, 2025).
The Media Release concluded by saying, “The Authority assures motorists and the traveling public that these restoration works will not disrupt the normal flow of traffic.”
