50-Year-Old Businessman Shot Dead In Chaguanas — Police Investigating
A businessman is dead following a shooting incident outside his home in Chaguanas last night (Tuesday 7th October, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Daren Mohamdally of Mohamdally Street, Joyce Road, Chaguanas. He was said to be associated with OneSource Maintenance Construction Company Limited and was a former Operations Manager at Super Industrial Services Limited in Couva.
According to reports, Mohamdally arrived outside his home in his black Toyota Hilux, near Medex Pharmacy, around 10:30 PM, when a gunman in a hoodie stepped out of some bushes and opened fire on Mohamdally, while he was still seated in the vehicle. He was shot multiple times about the body. The gunman then made his escape.
Police and Emergency Health Services were notified. However, Mohamdally succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Police have not yet established a motive for this murder.
Investigations are continuing.
