53-Year-Old Man Ordered To Undergo Psychiatric Evaluation After Appearing In Court For Murder

A Port-of-Spain man has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation, after he appeared before a Master of the High Court on Tuesday (21st October, 2025), charged with the murder of Richardo Duke, which occurred on 7th October, 2025.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Sean Perry, 53, of Cipriani Boulevard, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Indira Chinebas in the High Court.

He was ordered to undergo the evaluation at the St. Ann’s Psychiatric Hospital and will re-appear in Court on 4th November, 2025.

Duke, 60, aka ‘Bale Leaf Man,’ of Nelson Street, Port-of-Spain, was found in the Woodbrook district, on 7th October 2025, with wounds to his body, following a report of serious wounding. He also complained to First Responders that he was having difficulty breathing. The victim was conveyed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (POSGH) for emergency medical treatment, where he died. 

A male suspect was arrested by Officers of the Woodbrook Police Station on 12th October, 2025, in connection with the matter.

Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Ramjag, Insp. (Ag.) Stanislaus, Insp. (Ag.) Seecharan and Insp. (Ag.) Ramsumair, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region I.

Perry was charged by PC Lewis, also of HBI Region I, on Friday (17th October, 2025), following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal, on that same date.
