Murder of Businessman Imraz Ali: Trio Charged With Unlawfully Moving BODY

Three (3) men have appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the offence of unlawfully moving a body, contrary to the Coroner’s Act.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Isaiah Maikoo, 29, and Isaiah Mohammed, aka ‘Drowsy,’ 27, both of Carapichaima, and Anibal Iguanetti Machiz, 31, of Charlieville, were each charged with the offence when they appeared before Master Whitney Franklin, on Tuesday (21st October, 2025).

Maikoo and Mohammed were each granted bail in the sum of $80,000 and are to re-appear in Court on 7th July, 2026, while Machiz was denied bail due to insufficient ties to Trinidad and Tobago. He is also expected to re-appear in Court on 7th July, 2026.

Reports indicate that investigators recovered the decomposing body of a man, on 11th October, 2025, in the Maraval district. The victim was subsequently identified as businessman Imraz Ali of Cunupia, who was reported missing to Officers of the Central Division, on 5th September, 2025.

Three (3) male suspects were held by Officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) on 9th October, 2025.

Investigations were supervised by ASP (Ag.) Ramjag, Insp. (Ag.) Stanislaus, Insp. (Ag.) Ramsumair and Insp. (Ag.) Seecharan, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region I, together with Officers of the AKU, spearheaded by Supt. Parryman and Insp. Phillip.

The trio was charged with the offence by Sgt. Warrick of the Central Division, following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal, on 17th October, 2025.
