Update On Delivery of Social Welfare Cheques

The Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services is advising the public that the functionality of the equipment used to print Social Welfare Cheques has been restored, resulting in the immediate commencement of the printing process.

In a Media Release on Thursday (2nd October, 2025), the Ministry said it has maintained close collaboration with its key stakeholder, the National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago (NIBTT), and is “working around the clock to ensure that delivery to clients commences at the earliest possible time.”

The Ministry notes that clients who are already on Direct Deposit were not affected. “We encourage those who have not yet enrolled to sign up by visiting any Social Welfare Office or by downloading the forms from www.social.gov.tt.”

The Ministry said it will “continue to keep the public updated on any further developments. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.”

Meanwhile, the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPost) said in a Media Release today (Saturday 4th October, 2025) that Social Welfare Cheques will be made available to TTPost on Monday (6th October, 2025). Upon receipt, TTPost said it will “immediately begin its internal processing to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of all cheques. We kindly ask for the public's continued patience and understanding during this exercise, as this necessary step must be completed prior to the commencement of delivery.”

The Media Release concluded by saying, “Every effort is being made to ensure your cheques are delivered promptly and securely. We sincerely thank you for your co-operation and understanding, and reaffirm our dedication to serving the people of Trinidad and Tobago with efficiency and care.”
