33-Year-Old Man Charged For Possession of Stolen Nissan Tiida

Officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad have charged a Cocorite man following investigations into a white Nissan Tiida that was seized on 25th February, 2024, along Bonne Aventure Road, Mayo. The vehicle was found without registration plates and later confirmed to have been reported stolen in the Carenage Police District on 22nd August, 2023.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), further enquiries revealed that the suspect, a 33-year-old man of Cocorite Terrace, Cocorite, allegedly sold the stolen vehicle to an unsuspecting buyer on 21st February, 2024, in the Gasparillo Police District, while knowing the vehicle was stolen and fraudulently represented.

On Tuesday (2nd December, 2025), Officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad arrested the man in the North-Eastern Division in connection with the matter. Following consultation with the CID/CRO Legal Department, instructions were issued to charge him with possession of a stolen vehicle.

The man appeared before High Court Master Margaret Sookraj-Goswani on Friday (5th December, 2025), where he was granted bail in the sum of $40,000 with a surety. The case has been transferred to the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court and adjourned to 12th January, 2026.

The investigation was spearheaded by Senior Superintendent Maharaj, Superintendent Pariman, and Assistant Superintendent Narine, and supervised by Inspector Lazarus and Sgt. Hosein. The charge was laid by Cpl. Neaves of the Stolen Vehicles Squad.
