42-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In San Juan; Body Found In Drain

UPDATE (09/12/25): CCTV footage has emerged of the brazen daylight killing of David Patrick.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The body of this article has been updated with new details.

A man is dead following a shooting incident along Laventille Road, San Juan, this morning (Sunday 7th December, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old David Patrick, aka ‘Dogman,’ of Coco Road, Laventille Road, San Juan.

According to reports, Patrick was eating doubles with a group of men near a red-and-cream shop, around 8:45 AM, when a white Nissan AD wagon (PDZ 6986) drove West along the roadway. As the vehicle approached, its front and rear left doors suddenly flew open, and its occupants opened fire on the group.

A masked gunman in dark clothing alighted from the wagon and chased Patrick near the Laventille Road Basketball Court. He collapsed into a nearby drain. The attacker then fired several additional shots at Patrick at close range, before re-entering the vehicle, which sped off East along Laventille Road.

Police and Emergency Health Services were notified. Officers from the North Eastern Division and Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region II, including Sgt. Ramoutar, responded.

However, Patrick succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A District Medical Officer (DMO) ordered the body removed to Ideals Funeral Home, pending a post-mortem.

Crime scene investigators recovered four (4) 9mm spent shells, two (2) live 5.56 rounds, glass fragments and swabs of blood.

The vehicle involved — fitted with a CNG tank and believed to be stolen — was later found abandoned on a hill along La Hoe Road, Laventille Road, with several spent shells inside.

Police have not yet established a motive for this murder.

Investigations are continuing.

More on this as it becomes available.
