EBC: Official Recounts Requested By PNM Completed For THA Elections
The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) is advising that the official recounts for the Darrel Spring/Whim and Scarborough/Mt. Grace electoral districts in the 2026 Tobago House of Assembly (THA) elections have been completed.
The results of the recounts, as requested by the People’s National Movement (PNM) in the two (2) Tobago seats, showed that the PNM lost in both, resulting in no change in the sweeping 15 - 0 victory by the Tobago People’s Party (TPP).
In a Media Release today (Wednesday 14th January, 2026), the Commission said the official final vote counts were as follows:
Darrel Spring/Whim
- IDA - 14
- TPP - 838
- PNM - 826
- Rejected Ballots - 3
Scarborough/Mt. Grace
- PNM - 702
- TPP - 854
- IDA - 14
- Rejected Ballots - 6
The EBC said, “This concludes the two (2) recounts requested by the People’s National Movement (PNM), with the overall results for those electoral districts remaining unchanged.”
