iOS 26 (450+ NEW Features): Here’s The List of Compatible iPhones

Apple has arguably released its biggest operating software overhaul for iPhone, ever, with the public release of iOS 26 on Monday (15th September, 2025), which sees the introduction of a new design language called “Liquid Glass,” along with hundreds of new features and changes when compared to iOS 18. Yes, Apple has jumped from iOS 18 to iOS 26, to reflect the year, much like the auto industry does with its updated car models.

Many “normies” (normal people, not tech-obsessed like this writer) have been wondering if their iPhones are compatible with iOS 26. The answer is “probably yes,” unless you have an iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max or earlier.

According to Apple, “iOS 26 brings a new design, intelligent experiences, and improvements to the apps you rely on every day. The new design with Liquid Glass brings a more expressive and seamless experience to your Lock Screen and Home Screen, as well as apps, navigation, and controls.

Apple Intelligence is integrated into even more places, giving you the ability to learn more about the content on your screen, powering Live Translation features to help you communicate across languages, and unlocking new actions in Shortcuts so you can get more done fast. Updates to Phone and Messages help you stay connected while eliminating distractions like unwanted calls. iOS 26 also brings meaningful enhancements to Camera, Photos, Wallet, CarPlay, and so much more.”

Apple also released public versions of iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, watchOS 26 and visionOS 26 on Monday (15th September, 2025).
