58-Year-Old Man Dies At Hospital Following 3-Vehicle Crash In Ste. Madeleine

A man is dead following a 3-vehicle road traffic accident in Ste. Madeleine on Friday night (28th November, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old retired Prison Officer, Wayde Murray of Best Street, Cocoyea Village, San Fernando. Murray, a father of one (1), died the next day while being treated at the San Fernando General Hospital.

According to reports, Murray was heading East in his Toyota Fielder wagon (PEF 508) with his girlfriend, Michele McCloud, in the front passenger seat, along Manahambre Road, near the Usine Pond, when he attempted to avoid a pothole in the road, around 7:00 PM. However, he swerved into the opposite lane and collided with a white Toyota Axio, driven by a woman.

The impact caused the Axio to collide with a black Honda Vezel (PDW 827) behind it, pushing it into a utility pole at the roadside.

Officers from the Ste. Madeleine Police Station and the Mon Repos Fire Station were alerted, and FSO Jackson was among the first responders.

The collision left Murray pinned behind the wheel of his vehicle. Fire Officers, utilizing the hydraulic tool known as the ‘Jaws of Life,’ reportedly took approximately forty-five (45) minutes to extract him from the mangled wreck.

In addition to the three (3) drivers, each vehicle had one (1) passenger. All six (6) occupants were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for emergency medical treatment, where Murray was warded in the High Dependency Unit (HDU). He subsequently died around 10:15 AM on Saturday morning (29th November, 2025).

Investigations are continuing into the crash by PC De Boulet.
