Trough Expected To Reach Lesser Antilles By Tuesday [5-Day Weather Outlook]
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), the axis of a low-level trough is expected to reach the Lesser Antilles by Tuesday (2nd December, 2025). This is likely to increase instability, surface convergence, and moisture build-up, initially across the Southern Windward Islands from Monday (1st December, 2025), and subsequently across the remainder of the Lesser Antilles from Tuesday (2nd December, 2025) to Wednesday (3rd December, 2025).

- The wind waves from the Northeast and East are showing a noticeable increase in height over the open waters and are nearing Trinidad and Tobago immediately following this outlook period.

- The wind in the near-surface to the lower mid-level over Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands (2,000 ft to 5,000 ft) is expected to be near 20 kts until Tuesday (2nd), when there is likely to be a reduction to 10 kts to 15 kts for the remainder of this outlook period. An increase back to near 20 kts is likely immediately following this outlook period. Direction is expected to be East-Northeast to Northeast during this outlook period.

- Generally mild or occasionally moderate concentrations of dust will be present in the atmosphere for this outlook period. Sensitive persons are advised to take the necessary precautions.

- The remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Fair to partly cloudy at times, with a few brief showers, and a low to medium chance for a heavy shower, near hilly areas.

- Trinidad and Tobago: Mostly fair with brief showers, mainly near Eastern, Western, and hilly areas of Trinidad. There is a low to medium chance for an isolated heavy shower over Trinidad.
- The remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Mostly fair, with a few brief showers, and a low to medium chance for a heavy shower, near hilly areas.
Tuesday (2nd December, 2025)
- Trinidad and Tobago: Initially mostly fair, becoming partly cloudy to cloudy in some areas by afternoon and evening. There is a medium chance of an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm over Trinidad.
- The remainder of the Lesser Antilles: Mostly fair with a few brief showers, becoming partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of isolated thunderstorms near Barbados and other Eastern areas.
Wednesday (3rd December, 2025)
- Trinidad and Tobago and the Windward Islands: Partly cloudy to cloudy, with light to moderate showers or rain over varying areas, and medium to high chances of a few heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms.
- Leeward Islands: Partly cloudy, mainly over the Southern Leeward Islands, with a few light to moderate showers and a medium chance of an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm.
