NO Electricity On Wednesday In Parts of Diego Martin, Cascade, Caroni, Manzanilla, Dow Village, Casaurina

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising customers that planned maintenance work will affect several areas of Diego Martin, Cascade, Caroni, Manzanilla, Dow Village and Casaurina on Wednesday (20th May, 2026). This may result in loss of electricity between the hours of works. 

According to T&TEC, the affected areas in Diego Martin, Cascade, Caroni, Manzanilla, Dow Village and Casaurina are as follows: 

DIEGO MARTIN (9:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

  • Along Salandy Street, Roxborough Street, Western side of Mercer Street, Breaking Silence Deliverance & Healing Ministries, Kelly Street and all associated side streets.

CASCADE (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM)

  • All customers in Mon Repos Terrace on Mon Repos Road.

CARONI (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)

  • From LP #140 to LP #145 along Caroni Arena Road and all associated side streets.

MANZANILLA (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)

  • From LP #20 on Caigual Road #1 heading East, including Flemming Road.

DOW VILLAGE (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)

  • From the Dow Village 12 kV feeder pole on the Esperanza Road heading West on to Railway Road up to pole #827 on corner of Railway Road and the Southern Main Road, including Dow Village Settlement, Hosein Street, Hilton Mitchell Street and all associated side streets.
  • From pole #827 on corner of Railway Road and Southern Main Road heading North on the Southern Main Road up to pole #807 in the vicinity of SECU Credit Union, including Yallery Street, Teelucksingh Street, Junon Street, Sanford Street, Stephen Street, Centenary Street and all associated side streets.
  • From pole #827 on corner of Railway Road and Southern Main Road heading South up to pole #858 in the vicinity of STML, including Caribbean Drive up to Pacific Avenue and all associated side streets.
  • From the Dow Village 12 kV feeder pole on the Esperanza Road heading South and then East on to Esperanza Road, including Esperanza Village, George Street, School Street and all associated side streets.

CASAURINA (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM)

  • Off LP #121 Brothers Settlement to LP #3 Kangalee Trace and all associated side streets.

T&TEC says it regrets the inconvenience which may be caused by these interruptions.

UPDATE 3:  The biological father of missing Angelo, 22-year-old Antonio Plaza, travelled to Tobago today (Friday 15th May, 2026) with his mother, Meena Plaza, seeking answers as to the whereabouts of little Angelo. Accompanied by Crime Watch host Ian Alleyne, they went directly to Cambridge Trace, Goodwood, the same area where Angelo was last seen on Monday night (11th May, 2026), hoping to speak with the child’s mother and get answers surrounding the baffling case. UPDATE 2:  The TTPS confirmed today (Tuesday 19th May, 2026) that seven (7) persons — three (3) females and four (4) males — have been detained as investigations continue into the disappearance of 2-year-old Angelo Tobias. The Cyber Unit is analyzing electronic devices seized, while searches continue in Tobago. UPDATE: Members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT), led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, continued extensive operations at the Studley Park Landfill in Tobago today (Monday 18th May, 2026) as the desperate search for missing 2-year-old Angelo Tobias entered its seventh day. There are growing fears the toddler may have been killed and his body disposed of at the landfill. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is confirming that upon receipt of a report regarding the disappearance of 2-year-old Angelo Tobias of Goodwood, Tobago , on Monday 11th May, 2026, Officers immediately initiated a co-ordinated and comprehensive response. In a Media Release this morning (Sunday 17th May, 2026), the TTPS said, “A thorough search operation was promptly undertaken in and around the vicinity of the child’s residence, involving multiple agencies. This included extensive searches of surrounding areas as well as nearby coastal waters, where the child was last reportedly seen. BODY of Missing Man Found Floating In Sea At Blenheim, Tobago — Police Investigating

UPDATE (18/05/26): Investigators believe Daniel Mclean may have fallen from a coconut tree, hit his head and rolled into the nearby sea, as his body was reportedly found with head wounds. EDITOR’S NOTE: The body of this article has been updated with new details. The body of a man was located and retrieved from the sea in Blenheim, Tobago, on Friday morning (15th May, 2026) by members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT). The deceased has been identified as Daniel Mclean of Bacolet, Tobago. He was a father of one (1) and an employee of Dane Phillip Plumbing and Enterprises, who was also known for earning extra income by picking coconuts. According to reports, Mclean was reported missing around 6:00 PM on Thursday (14th May, 2026) after he failed to return home. FOUR (4) To Be Charged With Murders of Kenneth Gill And Bernard Mahabir

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), four (4) persons are expected to be charged with the murders of Kenneth Gill and Bernard Mahabir, whose burnt bodies were discovered in the trunk of a motor vehicle in the Valencia district, on Monday 27th April, 2026. The accused are a 57-year-old woman of El Socorro, a 45-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man and a 41-year-old man, all of Valencia. The charges are to be laid following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Roger Gaspard SC, on Monday (11th May, 2026). Gill, 67, of Trincity and Mahabir, 71, of Tunapuna, were reported missing on Monday 27th April, 2026 at the Arouca Police Station. Enquiries revealed they were last seen on Sunday 26th April, 2026, at a bar in the Lopinot district. Gill’s bank card was subsequently used to make cash withdrawals from ATMs in the Arima and Sangre Grande districts the following day.
