BODY of 23-Year-Old Venezuelan National Found Dumped In Morvant By Garbage Collectors
The body of a Venezuelan national was found in Morvant on Monday morning (1st June, 2026). The deceased, who was murdered, has been identified as 23-year-old Alexis Enrique Pineda.
According to reports, Officers were on mobile patrol, around 6:15 AM, when they received information from the Command Centre that a body had been found at the corner of 1st Caledonia Road and Tractor Hill, Morvant. The body was said to have been discovered by garbage collectors who were passing through the area, shortly after 5:30 AM.
Upon arrival at the location, Officers discovered Pineda lying motionless on his back, partially covered with a bloodstained bedsheet. He was clad in a three-quarter jeans, a white vest bearing apparent bloodstains and a black sneaker.
A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who pronounced the victim dead and ordered the body removed, pending a post-mortem examination at the Forensic Science Centre.
Crime scene investigators recovered several items, including identification documents belonging to the deceased, cash, jewellery and personal effects.
Investigators believe Pineda may have been killed elsewhere and his body later dumped at the location in Morvant.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the murder.
