44-Year-Old Charlieville Man Killed While Trying To Cross Highway Near Jerningham Junction

A man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Southbound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway on Friday morning (26th December, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Sumraj Bhagwandeen of Jerningham Junction Road, Charlieville. According to reports, Police received a report that the body of a man was observed lying along the Southbound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway, near Jerningham Junction, around 9:10 AM. Upon arrival at the scene, Officers of the Chaguanas Police Station and the Traffic and Highway Patrol Branch, Freeport, found Bhagwandeen lying motionless on the roadway. He was clad in a purple plaid shirt, long blue jeans, and one (1) black shoe. A pool of blood was observed near his head. Similar conditions are expected overnight. 59-Year-Old Moruga Man Charged With Manslaughter of Relative

A 59-year-old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the unlawful killing of Brian Figaro, who succumbed on 11th December, 2025, to injuries he sustained on 8th December, 2025.  According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Servulus Figaro of Moruga was charged with manslaughter, when he appeared before Master Gray at the South Criminal Court ‘D,’ on Wednesday (24th December, 2025).  The matter was adjourned to 27th January, 2026. The TTPS notes that Brian Figaro, also of Moruga, was involved in a heated argument with a male relative on 8th December, 2025. During the incident, the victim was allegedly struck repeatedly about the body with a baton by the relative, sustaining injuries to his head and abdominal region. On 11th December, 2025, the victim reportedly collapsed at his home and became unresponsive. WASA: Supply Interruption To Parts of South-West Trinidad

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers of unplanned water interruption due to an electrical problem impacting a pump at the Granville Water Treatment Plant. Affected areas are as follows:  Reduced pressures to Granville Old Road, Syfoo Trace, Bamboo Village, Bois Bourg, Bonasse Village, Coromandel, Fullerton, Cedros, Icacos, Granville, Granville Main Road, Icacos Inland Road, parts of Pt. Coco (including high points of Boodram Trace, Pasea Trace and Unity Trace) and environs. For further information, assistance, or to request a truck-borne delivery, customers can contact WASA's Customer Call Centre, toll-free at 800-4420 to 800-4426.  WASA notes that restoration is expected by 9:00 PM tonight (Friday 26th December, 2025).   The Authority thanks customers for their patience and understanding.

26-Year-Old St. Helena Man Dies In Violent Highway Crash; FOUR (4) Others Injured

A man is dead and four (4) others hospitalized following a road traffic accident along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, near the Piarco walkover, early this morning (Friday 26th December, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Emmanuel Ottley of St. Helena, who was ejected from the vehicle during the violent crash. According to reports, a silver Nissan Note (PDH 6719) was traveling West along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, around 3:54 AM, when, shortly after passing another vehicle, the car suddenly veered off the roadway and slammed into the metal railings along the side of the Highway. The car then ploughed into a bus shed, before crashing down into a ravine, which runs parallel to the roadway.  The impact caused the car to overturn, after which it collided violently with additional railings along the pedestrian walkover linking Oropune Gardens to the Highway, leaving the vehicle mangled. The announcement was made by President Donald Trump via Truth Social. FOUR (4) Suspects Held Shortly After Another ODPM Facility Break-In

Four (4) male suspects were caught shortly after allegedly breaking into a facility belonging to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) in Mausica, early this morning (Thursday 25th December, 2025), following information received from Minister of Homeland Security, the Honourable Roger Alexander. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a well-coordinated response to the report of breaking in progress was executed by Officers of the Northern Division, which resulted in a vehicle with four (4) male suspects being intercepted, around 2:20 AM. A quantity of mattresses and white plastic tables belonging to the ODPM were recovered. The tables were found inside the suspects’ vehicle, a silver Nissan Wingroad wagon (PDZ 101), while the mattresses and other stolen items were found in bushes near the ODPM compound. Teen Among TWO (2) Shot Dead Inside Arima Home; 8-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized

Two (2) persons are dead, including a teenager, and a child wounded following a brutal home invasion and shooting incident at Pinto Road, Arima, early this morning (Thursday 25th December, 2025). The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Dijon Cottoy and 14-year-old Fadius Malchan. According to reports, armed assailants stormed a residence along Pinto Road, Arima, around 5:00 AM, and opened fire while the occupants were inside their home.  In the chaos that followed, Cottoy and Malchan were fatally shot, while Malchan's 8-year-old brother, a student of Santa Rosa Government Primary School, was wounded during the attack.  Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and Officers responded to the scene shortly after the shooting, including Insp. Sylvester, Insp. Smith and Sgt. Ramoutar. The child was rushed to Hospital, where he remains in stable condition after being shot in the shoulder.
