59-Year-Old Moruga Man Charged With Manslaughter of Relative

A 59-year-old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the unlawful killing of Brian Figaro, who succumbed on 11th December, 2025, to injuries he sustained on 8th December, 2025. 

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Servulus Figaro of Moruga was charged with manslaughter, when he appeared before Master Gray at the South Criminal Court ‘D,’ on Wednesday (24th December, 2025). 

The matter was adjourned to 27th January, 2026.

The TTPS notes that Brian Figaro, also of Moruga, was involved in a heated argument with a male relative on 8th December, 2025. During the incident, the victim was allegedly struck repeatedly about the body with a baton by the relative, sustaining injuries to his head and abdominal region.

On 11th December, 2025, the victim reportedly collapsed at his home and became unresponsive. He was taken to the Princes Town District Health Facility for treatment, where he died. 

Servulus Figaro was subsequently arrested and charged with the offence, following advice received from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), on Tuesday (23rd December, 2025).

Investigations were supervised by Supt. Steve Persad, ASP Maharaj and Sgt. Bridgemohan, all of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region III.

Servulus was charged by PC Huggins of the Princes Town Police Station.
