FOUR (4) Suspects Held Shortly After Another ODPM Facility Break-In
Four (4) male suspects were caught shortly after allegedly breaking into a facility belonging to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) in Mausica, early this morning (Thursday 25th December, 2025), following information received from Minister of Homeland Security, the Honourable Roger Alexander.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a well-coordinated response to the report of breaking in progress was executed by Officers of the Northern Division, which resulted in a vehicle with four (4) male suspects being intercepted, around 2:20 AM.
A quantity of mattresses and white plastic tables belonging to the ODPM were recovered. The tables were found inside the suspects’ vehicle, a silver Nissan Wingroad wagon (PDZ 101), while the mattresses and other stolen items were found in bushes near the ODPM compound.
The suspects were arrested in connection with the finds. They have been identified as follows:
- Jonathan Joseph, 29, of 6th Avenue, Barataria.
- Nekaa George, 45, of First Avenue, Pinto Road, Arima.
- Renaldo Guy, 25, of Phase 5, Beetham Gardens.
- Anthony Hackett, 43, of Phase 4, La Horquetta, Arima.
The TTPS notes that Minister Alexander joined the Task Force and Arima Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Officers on the ground during the operation.
This is said to be the third reported break-in at the ODPM office for the week, heightening concern over repeated attacks on critical national infrastructure, which falls under the Ministry of Homeland Security.
Investigations are ongoing.
