25-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Car In Arouca, TWO (2) Others Wounded

A man is dead and two (2) others wounded following a shooting incident in Arouca late Thursday night (14th May, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Adrian Meade of Lopinot Housing Development, Arouca.

According to reports, Officers from the Arouca CID were alerted to a shooting near Market Street, Arouca, around 11:10 PM, and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a white Honda Fit parked partly on the pavement, with multiple bullet holes and shattered glass.

Meade was discovered slumped in the front passenger seat, bleeding from the mouth and nose. He showed no signs of life.

A short distance away, near Lopinot Drugs, Officers found two (2) other men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They have been identified as 23-year-old Israel Elcock of St. Clair Road, Arouca, and 23-year-old Tariq Decoteau of Kingston Street, Arouca.

Elcock told investigators he had been driving along Royal Promenade Road, near La Luna Sports Bar, with Meade in the front passenger seat and Decoteau seated in the back, when a white Hyundai Elantra approached from the Eastern Main Road, around 11:00 PM.

The Elantra reportedly stopped and several armed men alighted from the vehicle and opened fire on the Honda Fit.

Elcock said he sped away and turned onto the Eastern Main Road. However, he soon realized he had been shot in the right shoulder. He eventually stopped the vehicle, and he and Decoteau fled on foot.

Both wounded victims were conveyed to the Arima Hospital for emergency medical treatment, where they are listed in stable condition.

Crime scene investigators recovered fifteen (15) spent 5.56 shell casings and nine (9) spent 9mm shell casings.

Investigations are continuing into the fatal shooting.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is confirming that upon receipt of a report regarding the disappearance of 2-year-old Angelo Tobias of Goodwood, Tobago , on Monday 11th May, 2026, Officers immediately initiated a co-ordinated and comprehensive response. FOUR (4) To Be Charged With Murders of Kenneth Gill And Bernard Mahabir

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), four (4) persons are expected to be charged with the murders of Kenneth Gill and Bernard Mahabir, whose burnt bodies were discovered in the trunk of a motor vehicle in the Valencia district, on Monday 27th April, 2026. The accused are a 57-year-old woman of El Socorro, a 45-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man and a 41-year-old man, all of Valencia. The charges are to be laid following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Roger Gaspard SC, on Monday (11th May, 2026). Gill, 67, of Trincity and Mahabir, 71, of Tunapuna, were reported missing on Monday 27th April, 2026 at the Arouca Police Station.
