BODY Found Riddled With Bullets In Cunupia Identified As 35-Year-Old Security Officer

The body of a man who was found with multiple gunshot wounds in Cunupia on Sunday 10th May, 2026 has been identified as 35-year-old Security Officer, Quidell Snaggs, of Marshall Trace, Cunupia. He is said to have accepted a hired taxi job the night before he was found murdered. His white Toyota Aqua (PEE 5593) was stolen during the incident and remains missing.

According to reports, Snaggs was discovered lying on the roadway along Nanlal Trace, Ragoonanan Road, Cunupia, around 4:30 AM, suffering from gunshot wounds to the face and abdomen.

Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. The wounded man was rushed to the Chaguanas District Health Facility in a Police vehicle but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigations are continuing.

UPDATE 2:  The TTPS confirmed today (Tuesday 19th May, 2026) that seven (7) persons — three (3) females and four (4) males — have been detained as investigations continue into the disappearance of 2-year-old Angelo Tobias. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is confirming that upon receipt of a report regarding the disappearance of 2-year-old Angelo Tobias of Goodwood, Tobago , on Monday 11th May, 2026, Officers immediately initiated a co-ordinated and comprehensive response. In a Media Release this morning (Sunday 17th May, 2026), the TTPS said, “A thorough search operation was promptly undertaken in and around the vicinity of the child’s residence, involving multiple agencies. This included extensive searches of surrounding areas as well as nearby coastal waters, where the child was last reportedly seen. UPDATE (18/05/26): Investigators believe Daniel Mclean may have fallen from a coconut tree, hit his head and rolled into the nearby sea, as his body was reportedly found with head wounds. The body of a man was located and retrieved from the sea in Blenheim, Tobago, on Friday morning (15th May, 2026) by members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT). FOUR (4) To Be Charged With Murders of Kenneth Gill And Bernard Mahabir

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), four (4) persons are expected to be charged with the murders of Kenneth Gill and Bernard Mahabir, whose burnt bodies were discovered in the trunk of a motor vehicle in the Valencia district, on Monday 27th April, 2026. The accused are a 57-year-old woman of El Socorro, a 45-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man and a 41-year-old man, all of Valencia. The charges are to be laid following advice received from Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Roger Gaspard SC, on Monday (11th May, 2026). Gill, 67, of Trincity and Mahabir, 71, of Tunapuna, were reported missing on Monday 27th April, 2026 at the Arouca Police Station.
