Man Shot Near Primary School In Cocoyea, San Fernando — Police Investigating

A man is currently hospitalized following a shooting incident near a Primary School in Cocoyea, San Fernando, earlier today (Monday 18th May, 2026). The victim has been identified as 43-year-old Richard Kingsley of Dos Santos Street, Mon Repos.

According to reports, Kingsley was found suffering from gunshot wounds along the Naparima Mayaro Road, a short distance from the Cocoyea Government Primary School, around 6:50 AM.

Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Officers attached to the Mon Repos Police Station conveyed the wounded man to the San Fernando General Hospital for emergency medical treatment, where he is said to be in stable condition. 

Investigations are continuing.
