TTPS: Investigations Into Disappearance of 2-Year-Old Angelo Tobias Take Critical Turn
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is advising members of the public that investigations into the disappearance of 2-year-old Angelo Tobias of Goodwood, Tobago, have taken a critical turn. This follows reports that the child’s stepfather, Shannon Miller, allegedly confessed this morning (Wednesday 20th May, 2026) to strangling baby Angelo and then disposing his body in the sea, near the family’s home.
In a Media Release this afternoon, the TTPS said Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Tobago Division, Rishi Singh, has indicated that investigators are continuing to work diligently and professionally toward achieving a clear and definitive outcome in this matter.
The TTPS is emphasizing that “this remains a sensitive and ongoing investigation, with all enquiries being conducted professionally, fairly, and with full respect for the constitutional rights of all parties. This investigation is being treated as a co-ordinated multi-agency effort, involving Officers of the Special Victims Department, Tobago Division Gang Unit, Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Tobago Divisional Task Force, Canine Unit, and the Criminal Records Office.”
Support is also being provided by the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) and Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT).
The TTPS is urging members of the public to “allow the investigative process to proceed without interference and encourages anyone with information that may assist in locating Angelo Tobias to come forward.”
Persons may contact the Scarborough Police Station at 639-1200, or call 555, 800-TIPS (800-8477), or Tobago 211.
The TTPS said it will “continue to issue updates as the investigation advances, subject to the parameters of operational sensitivity and lawful disclosure.”
More on this as it becomes available.
