Today: Fair, Hazy, Windy, Isolated Showers — Significant Saharan Dust; 33°C Max

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), fair, hazy and breezy/windy conditions today (Saturday 16th May, 2026) will be interrupted at times by brisk, light to moderate showers. Tonight will be mostly fair but hazy, with a gentle breeze and the odd shower. 

High Wind Alert (Yellow Level) is in effect until 2:00 PM on Sunday (17th May, 2026).

The Met Office notes that there is a significant concentration of Saharan dust present in the atmosphere. Persons who are sensitive to this change in air quality should take the necessary precautions. 

The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago. 

Seas are moderate with waves 2m to 2.5m in open waters and near 1m and occasionally choppy in sheltered areas.
