Today: Sunny, Hazy, Windy, Isolated Showers — Significant Saharan Dust; 33°C Max
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), sunny, hazy and at times, windy conditions today (Sunday 17th May, 2026) will be interrupted by cloudy spells, with isolated light to moderate showers. Tonight will be mostly fair but hazy and breezy, with isolated showers.
The High Wind Alert (Yellow Level) has been extended until 12:00 AM on Tuesday (19th May, 2026). Gusty winds are likely in/near showers.
The Met Office notes that despite fluctuations, the concentration of Saharan dust is expected to remain significant. Persons sensitive to changes in air quality should take the appropriate precautions.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are moderate and occasionally rough with waves 2m to 2.5m and occasionally up to 3m in open waters, and 1m to 1.5m and choppy at times in sheltered areas.
