Sangre Grande Duo Granted $100,000 Bail Each In Robbery With Violence Case

Two (2) men appeared before the Court on Thursday (26th September, 2025), in connection with a robbery with violence that occurred on Sunday 21st September, 2025 along Cyprus Road, Picton Road Extension, Sangre Grande. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Marcus Mottley , 18, of Phillipville and Keon Rose, 19, of Foster Road, were jointly charged with robbery with violence and appeared before Master Rehanna Hosein at North Court B, where they pleaded not guilty to the offence. The Court subsequently granted bail to both accused in the sum of $100,000 each, with sureties and strict conditions. Bail Conditions: Marcus Mottley is to report to the Sangre Grande Police Station twice per week and must observe a daily curfew: 1:00 AM to 6:00 AM. He must have no communication with, or be in proximity to, the virtual complainant. Traffic Disruption: Bridge B1/18, Mayaro Guayaguayare Road — For SIX (6) Months

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure is advising the public of a temporary traffic disruption along the Mayaro Guayaguayare Road at Bridge B1/18. This disruption was scheduled to begin on Monday (29th September, 2025) and is expected to continue for approximately six (6) months. The Ministry notes that works will take place from Mondays to Saturdays, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This exercise is necessary to facilitate critical structural works on the B1/18 Bridge. Considering the above, motorists are advised of the following: Expect single-lane traffic during the stated work hours. Observe all signage and follow the instructions of Traffic Control Personnel. Exercise caution around the construction zone, as heavy equipment may be entering and exiting the site. T&TEC: NO Electricity On Wednesday In Parts of St. Augustine And Tacarigua

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising customers that planned maintenance work will affect several areas of St. Augustine and Tacarigua on Wednesday (1st October, 2025). This may result in loss of electricity between the hours of works — 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.   According to T&TEC, the affected areas in  St. Augustine and Tacarigua  are as follows:  ST. AUGUSTINE From LP #1 to LP #4 Streatham Lodge Road, Ganga Street, Sankar Street, LP #1 to LP #23 St. Augustine Circular Road, LP #10 to LP #11 Ramdial Street, Mohammed Trace and all associated side streets. TACARIGUA From LP #A60 on corner of Orange Grove and Freeman Road heading East, including Chav Lane, Hardial Avenue, Dry River Trace South, Streatham Lodge Road, Temple Street, Bharath Street, Ramkissoon Trace and all associated side streets. Significant Quantity of Cannabis Trees Seized On Premises In Assaraf Road, Charlieville

An anti-crime operation in the Chaguanas District resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cannabis trees and paraphernalia on Monday (29th September, 2025). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), between the hours of 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM, acting on valuable intelligence, Officers conducted surveillance on a specific individual and premises located in Assaraf Road, in the Charlieville area. Following consultations under the authority granted by Section 12 of the Emergency Powers Regulation, 2025, Officers entered and searched the premises. During the search, a quantity of suspected cannabis and related paraphernalia was discovered.  Items seized included: Marijuana trees, stems, leaves, pods, and seeds. Loose dried plant-like material. Traffic Disruption On Eastbound Lane of Churchill Roosevelt Highway Until Friday

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption on the Eastbound lane of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway — East of Tumpuna Road to Cumuto, from today (Tuesday 30th September, 2025) until Friday (3rd October, 2025), between the hours of 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This has become necessary to facilitate road works. The Ministry said it apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its continued co-operation. Please be guided accordingly.

Traffic Disruptions Along Southbound Lanes of Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway Until Saturday

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure is advising the public that there will be temporary traffic disruptions along the Southbound lanes of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, between Bhagwansingh’s Hardware and Brentwood Mall, Chaguanas. These works will commence from today (Tuesday  30th September, 2025) and will be completed on Saturday (4th October, 2025). This has become necessary to facilitate road rehabilitation Works. The Ministry notes that works will be undertaken during the day on Tuesday (30th September, 2025) and Wednesday (1st October, 2025), from 9:00 AM. Minimal traffic disruption is anticipated. However, commuters are urged to be mindful of, and give way to, heavy vehicles that may be merging onto the roadway. 40-Year-Old Man Ambushed, Shot Dead In Williamsville — Police Investigating

A man is dead after he was ambushed and shot in Williamsville this morning (Tuesday 30th September, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Allan Samaroo. The shooting occurred just off Guaracara/Tabaquite Road, near Riversdale Presbyterian School. According to reports, Samaroo was standing along Esmeralda Road, awaiting transportation to work, when neighbours heard a loud explosion, around 7:00 AM. Upon investigating, a neighbour found him lying on the road, bleeding from a gunshot wound. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified. However, Samaroo succumbed to his injuries. The gunman is believed to have been hiding in a nearby bushy area, before emerging and opening fire on Samaroo. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), today (Tuesday 30th September, 2025) will be sunny with a slight haze. These conditions would be interrupted intermittently by partly cloudy intervals associated with isolated light to moderate showers, near, but not confined to, hilly and Western areas. There is a medium (40%) chance that some of these showers could become heavy and/or thundery. Tonight will be mostly fair, except for some partly cloudy conditions with a few light to moderate showers developing just after Midnight.   The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.  Seas are moderate with waves up to 1.5m in open waters and up to 1m in sheltered areas.  Please continue to pay attention to the latest forecasts, alerts, and information issued by the TTMS.

DCP Martin RESPONDS To Police Officer Russell Bedasse’s Statements In Viral Video

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) – Operations, Suzette Martin, has issued a statement following a viral video in which Police Officer  Russell Bedasse  announced his resignation and made certain allegations against the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS). In the viral video, Bedasse, of Coromandel Village, Cedros, announced he quit the TTPS, having dropped off his badge at the Cedros Police Station on Friday (26th September, 2025), after what he described as a lack of response from colleagues regarding the disappearance of his mother, Sheilawathie Lorna Bedasse, who was reported missing on Tuesday 23rd September. 2025.  Tragically, she was found a day later, hanging from a tree near the beach at Clifton Hill, Point Fortin , on Republic Day (Wednesday 24th September, 2025). 38-Year-Old Man Shot Dead Near Home In Pleasantville After Receiving Phone Call

A man is dead following a shooting incident in Pleasantville on Saturday night (27th September, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Ken Wilkinson of No. 188 Brassia Drive, Orchid Gardens, Pleasantville. He was a father of two (2) young daughters — ages four (4) and six (6) — and was said to be gathering equipment to start a chow business in San Fernando and Princes Town. According to reports, Wilkinson was at home, around 7:00 PM, when he received a phone call and left a few minutes later. Residents subsequently heard a series of loud explosions along No. 171 Brassia Drive, around 7:25 PM. Upon investigating, they found Wilkinson lying motionless on the roadway. A Southern Division Task Force patrol responded to a wireless transmission of the shooting and proceeded to the scene, where they found Wilkinson bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), a surface trough presently near 53W is likely to bring a few partly cloudy periods across the Lesser Antilles by tomorrow (Tuesday 30th September, 2025), with low to medium chances for isolated thunderstorms over Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands. The axis of a Tropical Wave near 44W is presently moving Westward at 10 kts to 15 kts. As this Wave moves closer to the Leeward Islands by Thursday (2nd October, 2025), the structure of this Wave, and associated activity, could be reduced as a result of the influence of strong tropical cyclones Humberto and Imelda passing to the North. A Tropical Wave with an axis near 17W in the far Eastern Atlantic is presently moving Westward at 10 kts to 15 kts. 30-Year-Old Man Charged For Larceny of Hybrid Battery And Related Offences In Sangre Grande

A 30-year-old man appeared before the North Master’s Court on Thursday (25th September, 2025), charged with multiple offences, including larceny of a hybrid battery, following swift and diligent investigative work by Officers of the Sangre Grande Criminal Investigations Department (CID). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the  accused of Williams Trace, Aranguez, was arrested in the early hours of Friday 19th September, 2025, after Police Officers observed two (2) suspicious individuals near a vehicle in the vicinity of San Louis Road Recreation Ground, Guaico. Around 3:41 AM, Officers on mobile patrol — PC Samuel, WPC Moses, and PC Mohammed — noticed the men standing beside a black hybrid Toyota Fielder wagon. There is a medium (60%) chance of isolated thunderstorm activity. Conditions should settle by evening apart from lingering isolated showers.  The Met Office notes that street flooding and gusty winds are likely in the event of heavy downpours. There is also a low chance of isolated flash flooding, favouring the Western half of Trinidad. FIVE (5) Dead As Ex-U.S. Marine Crashes Into Michigan Church, Opens Fire On Congregation, Sets Building Ablaze

An armed 40-year-old man is said to have rammed a Chevy Silverado pickup truck into a Grand Blanc Township Church in Michigan during services this morning (Sunday 28th September, 2025), then opened fire on hundreds of people gathered inside. He then set the Church ablaze, which was completely destroyed.  In the aftermath of the chaos and bloodshed, at least five (5) people are dead, including the shooter, and eight (8) others hospitalized — multiple victims are in critical condition. At least four (4) people who were attending services inside the chapel have died. Two (2) of the deceased are believed to have been trapped inside the Church and perished in the flames.  The injured victims were conveyed to the Henry Ford Genesys Hospital for emergency medical treatment. WASA Announces Plans For ‘Major Upgrade Works’ At Acono Water Treatment Plant

Acting CEO of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), Jeevan Joseph, while on tour of the Acono Water Treatment Plant with the Honourable Roger Alexander, Member of Parliament for Tunapuna and Minister of Homeland Security, on Saturday (27th September, 2025), announced plans to carry out major upgrade works at the facility that would result in production increasing from 375,000 gallons per day, to over 500,00 gallons per day. These works, which are expected to be undertaken under the next package of Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) funded projects, will improve the level of service to approximately 11,353 residents in Acono Road, Belle View, Harmony Drive, Acono Gardens, Sarame Gardens, Green Hill, Caurita, Acono Ridge, Guamal, and Maracas St. Joseph. Police Open Fire On Honda Vezel In Port-of-Spain; Armed Suspects Escape

A man wanted for several robberies in Tobago managed to escape Police after they attempted to intercept his vehicle in Port-of-Spain on Saturday morning (27th September, 2025). The suspect has been identified as  Abraham Callender of Beetham Gardens. According to reports, Officers of the Port-of-Spain Task Force were on patrol at the corner of Frederick and Prince Streets, around 11:00 AM, when they observed a white Honda Vezel (PDW 1608) with two (2) occupants. Officers recognized the driver as a Beetham man wanted for crimes in Tobago and attempted to stop the vehicle. However, while doing so, an occupant in the passenger seat allegedly pointed a firearm in the direction of the Officers, leading one of the Officers to open fire on the vehicle. The suspects drove off and escaped. Investigators later found the vehicle abandoned in Beetham, which was subsequently towed to the Besson Street Police Station for further analysis. Man Dies In Horrific Crash Along Priority Bus Route (PBR); Body Dismembered

A man is dead following a road traffic accident along the Priority Bus Route (PBR) early this morning (Sunday 28th September, 2025). The deceased has been identified as Mickel Rennie, aka ‘Turtle.’ According to reports, Rennie was involved in a severe crash that left his body dismembered. Details surrounding the circumstances of the crash remain unclear at this time. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified. However,  Rennie succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The area was cordoned off as investigators processed the scene. Traffic along the PBR was temporarily diverted. Moruga Pensioner Caught With Shotgun, Dried Cannabis

A man was arrested, a firearm recovered, and a quantity of narcotics seized during an anti-crime exercise in the Southern Division on Saturday afternoon (27th September, 2025). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), around 4:20 PM, Ag. Sgt. Seecharan led a team of Officers, including PC Marcus, PC Laloo, PC Adams, PC Khan, PC Hosein, and PC Ramsaroop, on an operation duty, when they acted on intelligence and proceeded to an address at St. Clair Trace, Marac Village, Moruga. Upon entering the premises, PC Hosein observed the occupant, a 65-year-old man, holding a shotgun. The firearm was immediately seized, and the suspect arrested. A subsequent search of the premises led to the discovery of a crocus bag containing two (2) kilogrammes of dried cannabis, well above the legally permitted amount. 41-Year-Old Komal Maharaj Mysteriously Disappears, Again — Massive Search Underway

UPDATE (29/09/25): Reports state that Maharaj was found alive at the Piarco Touch Down Hotel in St. Helena this evening (Monday 29th September, 2025). No further details are available at this time. Another massive search has been launched for 41-year-old  Komal Maharaj of Felicity, Chaguanas, who was last seen on Friday afternoon (26th September, 2025). Maharaj, who also went missing last year , is described as being of East Indian descent, fair-skinned, slim-built, 184 cm tall, weighing approximately 175 lbs, with long hair and clean-shaven. According to reports, Maharaj, a school teacher and father of two (2) girls, was last seen leaving his home and walking toward the nearby savannah, around 1:31 PM on Friday afternoon. CCTV footage captured him wearing long blue jeans, a black long-sleeve sweater with a zipper, and sunglasses. WASA: Service Disruption To Parts of Santa Cruz

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers of unplanned water interruption due to a mechanical problem affecting Booster No. 2 at the Santa Cruz Water Treatment Plant. Affected areas are as follows:  Lower Cantaro, Riverside Road, Conrad Street, Rosemary Street, Robert Street, Charles Street, Torrance Drive, Bass Street, Akal Trace, Jaggan Village, Gasparillo, El Carmen, El Perico, La Sargesse Road, Flamboyant Avenue, Pax Vale.  WASA notes that restoration is expected by 4:00 PM on Tuesday afternoon (30th September, 2025).   The Authority thanks customers for their patience and understanding.

Arima Couple Charged With Obtaining Money By False Pretences

A husband and wife appeared in Court on Friday (26th September, 2025) after being formally charged with obtaining money by false pretences, contrary to the Larceny Act , following a detailed investigation by the Anti-Corruption Investigations Bureau (ACIB) of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS). According to the TTPS, on  Thursday (25th September, 2025), Steve Watson and his wife, Patricia Watson, both of Wallerfield, Arima, were jointly charged with the offence by Woman Police Constable (WPC) Campbell of the ACIB. The charges arose from a report made in January 2023 by the Head of a State Agency responsible for the management and distribution of State Lands, which flagged irregularities concerning a document allegedly issued by the agency for a parcel of land located in the Jacob Hill, Arima area. Reports: U.S. Military Preparing Plans To Strike Inside Venezuela, Targeting Drug Traffickers

Options are being drawn up by the United States military to target drug traffickers inside Venezuela. Although U.S. President Donald Trump has not approved any firm action yet, these strikes could potentially begin within Venezuela’s borders as early as in a matter of weeks, according to four (4) sources — two (2) U.S. Officials familiar with the planning and two (2) other sources familiar with the discussions — in communications with NBC News . These sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the plans publicly. The plans being discussed are primarily focused on drone strikes against drug trafficking groups’ members and leadership, as well as targeting drug labs, according to the four (4) sources.
