The deceased has been identified as 38-year-old Ken Wilkinson of No. 188 Brassia Drive, Orchid Gardens, Pleasantville. He was a father of two (2) young daughters — ages four (4) and six (6) — and was said to be gathering equipment to start a chow business in San Fernando and Princes Town.

According to reports, Wilkinson was at home, around 7:00 PM, when he received a phone call and left a few minutes later. Residents subsequently heard a series of loud explosions along No. 171 Brassia Drive, around 7:25 PM. Upon investigating, they found Wilkinson lying motionless on the roadway.

A Southern Division Task Force patrol responded to a wireless transmission of the shooting and proceeded to the scene, where they found Wilkinson bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers checked for signs of life, but there were none.

The area was cordoned off while first responders awaited the arrival of Officers from the Mon Repos Police Station as well as Detectives from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region III.

A District Medical Officer (DMO) also visited the scene, examined the body and ordered its removal to the San Fernando General Hospital mortuary, before transfer to the Forensic Science Centre in St. James for a post-mortem examination.

Crime scene investigators recovered a few items of evidential value.
