Commissioner of Police, Allister Guevarro, also confirmed Kawall’s rescue while speaking with reporters following the successful operation.

Intelligence led Police to a hideout in Maraval, where the daring rescue took place under heavy gunfire. Kawall was safely extracted by Officers around 11:00 AM this morning at Upper Third Avenue, off Saddle Road, Maraval, during which a suspect was killed. Three (3) other suspects involved in Kawall’s kidnapping were arrested early this morning, around 3:00 AM, near the Queen’s Park Savannah, after allegedly using Kawall’s bank card at a Republic Bank ATM at Park Street, Port-of-Spain.

Kawall, 59, of Palm Road, North Valsayn, who was kidnapped and missing since Wednesday (3rd September, 2025), was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (POSGH) to receive medical attention after being rescued in Maraval. He is said to be in good condition with no physical injuries.

Relatives reported him missing after he failed to return home, along with his gold Toyota Hilux, which was later found abandoned along Hololo Road, Cascade, and then found a second time, completely burnt out in Rousillac/La Brea.

According to reports, relatives received a ransom demand of nearly US $1 million for Kawall‘s safe release on Friday (5th September, 2025), but it is unknown if any ransom was paid.
