A man is dead following a road traffic accident along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway early this morning (Saturday 8th November, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Arvin Williams of London Street, St. Joseph Village, San Fernando.
He died days before his 33rd birthday, at the same spot where two (2) of his close friends also died in a horrific crash last year. Williams was an employee of Safety and Fire Equipment Technology (Safe Tec) and the son of Winston Williams, CEO of Pan-American Life Insurance Group.
According to reports, Officers Ag./Sgt. Lulkool and Ag./Cpl. Chadee were notified about a crash near the Corinth Overpass, along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, and responded to the scene, around 2:05 AM. Upon arrival, they found a red Nissan Frontier PRO-4X pickup (TED 5864) that had crashed into the bridge at a high rate of speed and then landed in the median ditch between the Northbound and Southbound lanes. The 2022-manufactured vehicle was badly mangled, and Williams was seen motionless inside.
Fire Officers from the Mon Repos Fire Station had to utilize the ‘Jaws of Life’ to free Williams from the wreckage. A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned and subsequently pronounced him dead at the scene. His body was taken to Boodoo’s Funeral Home, pending a post-mortem.
Williams’ mangled red Frontier was transported to the Ste. Madeleine Police Station, where it currently sits opposite the station.
Family members said Williams had been looking forward to his birthday on Tuesday (11th November, 2025), with plans already underway for a celebration. His sudden death has left relatives and friends in deep shock.
In August 2024, Williams’ best friends, Sachin Teeluckdharry, 27, and Ryan Ramnanan, 29, lost their lives after their black Nissan Navara pickup veered off the same stretch of Highway and crashed into the Cipero River, near the C3 Flyover in Ste. Madeleine.
Investigators believed the vehicle had become airborne before slamming into the bridge wall and plunging into the water below. Fire Officers also had to extract the men’s bodies from the mangled cabin. There was a public outcry at the time following that deadly crash for cable barriers and better road safety measures to be implemented along the Highway.
Investigations are continuing into Williams’ fatal crash.
More on this as it becomes available.
