FireOne Fireworks Welcomes New Fireworks Regulations — Reaffirms Commitment To National Safety, Responsible Celebration
FireOne Fireworks said it acknowledges the Government's introduction of the Summary Offences (Amendment) Bill 2025, as we quickly approach fireworks-heavy celebrations on the night of 31st December, 2025.
In a Media Release on Thursday (11th December, 2025), the company said, “We support its intent to enhance public safety, protect vulnerable groups, and bring greater structure to the industry — an approach fully aligned with FireOne's longstanding values and operational principles. At FireOne Fireworks, safety has always been the foundation of our identity and operations. Our systems are built on a structured, professional, and safety-driven model that consistently exceeds standard industry requirements.”
According to FireOne, “Thirty (30) years ago, Trinidad and Tobago's cultural practices, such as bamboo bursting, carbide explosions, and other homemade pyrotechnics, often caused serious injuries and widespread noise pollution. Through persistent public education and the introduction of certified consumer fireworks, FireOne helped lead the national shift away from these unsafe traditions toward modern, controlled, and regulated alternatives. This transformation has significantly improved public safety and fostered more respectful, considerate celebrations across the country.”
The company notes that every FireOne product is “independently inspected and certified by the American Fireworks Standards Laboratory (AFSL), an international agency that tests fireworks to rigorous global standards. This ensures consumers have access only to legitimate, compliant, and safe products — never unsafe or illegal alternatives.” In addition, FireOne said it has, since its inception, “voluntarily adopted international best-in-class practices, including the safety standards set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). These measures go far beyond what is legally required and reflect our unwavering commitment to safety and professionalism.”
FireOne added, “As a result of sustained education and responsible distribution, we have witnessed a dramatic shift in national behavior. What was once nearly three (3) months of indiscriminate noise — often from illegal or homemade devices — has been reduced to just a few hours of controlled celebration annually. Our annual Boxing Day Sale further reinforces this progress by ensuring the public has access to certified, legal, and properly tested fireworks, significantly reducing reliance on illegal products. Our watchwords — Discipline, Production and Tolerance — continue to guide both our internal culture and our public outreach.”
The company said it welcomes the formalization of designated celebration periods. “The defined window allowing the discharge of fireworks without a permit on public holidays between 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, and on December 31st between 11:30 PM and 12:30 AM on January 1st, reinforces order, predictability, and public harmony — principles we have promoted since inception.”
The Media Release concluded by saying, “FireOne remains committed to maintaining the highest safety standards, encouraging responsible use, and working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure fireworks continue to bring joy without compromising public well-being. We stand ready to support the Government, policymakers, enforcement agencies, community groups, and the public as Trinidad and Tobago enters a new era of structured and responsible fireworks use.”
